- No big-ass wanna-be metropolis (Atlanta) an hour away filled with ignorant folk
- Student population not consisting primarily of progeny from ignorant folk that live in a metropolis only an hour away
- Only four (4) hours from New York City
- I hear there is a college town which keeps the students annexed from downtown
- The lakes!
- Home of Carl Sagan, Rod Serling and many others.

What a day...
Movers finally showed up with my stuff after a delay in customs. Getting office set up finally.
Cable guy is here setting us up with PVRs finally. Third time is a charm as they blew off the last two house calls.
Ordered a Dell M2010 system today and am quite psyched about getting it. Delivery won't be for a few more weeks, evidently. The system is a trip.
Oh, and it's snowing!
I haven't quit smoking just yet. I am getting mentally prepared for such a commitment, or that is what I am telling myself. The price for my usual brand (Camel Filters) is about CDN $10.00 which is insane. I was smoking a packs a day last month and am down to a couple of pack a week.
Last week a local told me I can buy smokes much more cheaply at the nearby Ojibwa

first nation reservation. I now have about 20 packs for the next few
months for CDN $15.00. That's quite a bit. I don't think I was exploiting these native
peoples but it sure felt like it at first.
Here's my new digs in Canada, if curious. Cute little house, no? There is a creek in the backyard and a walking path which has many black squirrels doing squirrelly things.
Below is a boring photo of a boat launch for Lake Ontario which is only a quarter mile up the road. There's park benches at a "parkette" down the road as well.
I'm really digging this place thus far.
Groovy! have they got compressed oxygen there? I'll need some for my godforsaken condition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headache10 years, and running strong. Ugh. read more
